One day
treks only :
There are
round five to six one day treks in the local region of Mcleod
Ganj their details is given as under :
Mcleod to
Bhated River : Distance 10 km to and fro. Time
duration : five to six hrs.
Nature of the
trek : the trek is most suitable for any kin d of client there
is no height in this route it is most suitable for families
and kids below 12 years. If asked by trekkers the
fresh lunch be provide, which adds to the charm of
the trek. The ends in the river which is a snow fed and
the water is cold the clear.
Water provides
you an opportunity to take the cold water bath. There are
dense and most beautiful cedar oaks and
other broad leaved tree. There is ample scope for those
who are interested in the herbs of the lower Himalayan range.
The trek provides full jungle charm.
Route
no 2: Mcleodganj: Bhagsunag - Waterfall
- Dharamkot - Galu temple etc.
The trek start
from Mcleodganj and heads towards Bhgsunag village which
known
for its very old nag temple. After the temple we
go forward to the water in water fall of Bhagsunag which is
nearly a kilometre away towards the north- east direction of
the temple. In water fall is a small
break for the group.
After
waterfall the groups moves up towards the temple of Galu Mata,
the highest point of this trek resting for half an
hour, the group comes back to the town of am
Mcleodganj.
Route No.
3: Mcleodgnaj to Maata Goona temple
Time
duration six to eight hours .

: 14 milometers (to and fro)
This is the
first full day trek which needs little strong efforts. The
trek passes through Dal lake and the village of Naddi. After
crossing Naddi village we take the lower course of the route
which enter into the bhated khud. After reaching this point,
there is the steep climb for the next twenty minutes to reach
village Bal gaon. From here we can see southwards the view
of Kangra valley.
From here
starts the other part of the valley, we can see Kareri village
from here and western part of the valley. Before reaching the
temple you will see the clear view of the mountain BHIlM
GASHUTPI the approach for Chamba valley. The temple is
dedicated to Goddess Durga The place is just good for
meditation. From this point the return journey starts towards
the village side again. From Balgaon another route is taken
through Galu temple and DHARAMKOT village
TREK
No. 4:
Mcleodganj
to Triund

Distance: l8km
(To and Fro)
The trek starts from
the town of Mcleodganj. The first destination is Galu temple.
Here the group rests for a refreshing drink and then heads
towards the rail to Triund. From Galu temple the next five
kms. Are very gradual compare to the beginning of the trek.
Triund is die most beautiful meadow surrounded by the
mountains on its north and the southern part of it gives the
enchant view of the Kangra valley. TRIUND has a forest guest
house that can be reserved through the department of forest in
the office of D.F.O.
